Kia’s “A Good Vibe” Commercial Goes Viral

When you turn on this spring’s two-and-a-half minute ad spot for the Kia brand, the first thing you’ll hear is “I don’t wanna go.” It’s the catchphrase and title of a catchy, charming song by artists Kate Kim and Lee Radde. You’re practically guaranteed to get the tune stuck in your head, but you’re liable to sound conflicted. You’re singing “I don’t want to go,” yet all you do want to do is go and drive one of the recently redesigned Kia Rio and Kia Picanto that are advertised in the commercial.

The upbeat and memorable Kia commercial follows around Kate Kim and Lee Radde as they each climb into their own Kia vehicles. The all-new Kia Picanto—a super efficient, five-door hatchback—and the compact Kia Rio sedan both prove to serve as the perfect city cars for the musical artists. The “good vibe” association seems to promise that only the best journeys can be had in these updated Kia vehicles. Meanwhile, the fun, split-screen video and the perfect pop song have kept viewers wanting more, making this Kia commercial a viral hit.

If you do want to go in the Kia Rio or Kia Picanto, don’t worry—we have plenty on the lot at Gossett Kia, and we won’t mind if you sing “I Don’t Want to Go” by Kate Kim and Lee Radde while you shop.

New Kia Ad with Christopher Walken Highlights Optima’s Pizzazz

In a world full of homogenous mid-size sedans, a new Kia ad with Christopher Walken cleverly titled “Walken Closet” shows how the new 2016 Optima sets itself apart from the pack. Walken demonstrates the difference in “pizzazz” between the Optima and the rest of the crowded sedan segment using two different socks—one brightly colored and interesting, the other a drab tan.

The ad is part of a social media campaign called #AddPizzazz, which is a collaboration between Influential, Niche, and Stance, with the goal of encouraging online content creators to generate a variety of content types.

The ad and associated campaign are meant to highlight the style and technology that make the Optima one-of-a-kind, like its industry first use of Influential and IBM Watson technology to find active influencers on social media.

The 60-second version of the commercial aired during the Super Bowl game in early February, but the full-length version can be found on Kia’s YouTube.com account.
